about
Experience the difference with Kara Brooks, one of the top-producing agents in Pinellas County. Kara blends the analytical and negotiating skills of a seasoned trial lawyer, the marketing and financial acumen of a successful business owner, and the creative energy of an acclaimed James Beard-nominated chef into her work as a global advisor at Premier Sotheby’s.
Kara is not your ordinary real estate professional. With a diverse background that spans from being a trial lawyer to a successful business owner, she possesses the keen analytical acumen required to deftly navigate intricate real estate transactions. Her entrepreneurial experience provides a solid grasp of financial intricacies, assuring you that your investment is under expert guidance. Furthermore, her creative flair, influenced by her background in web design and hospitality, infuses a distinctive and compelling touch into the marketing and presentation of your property.
A finance/marketing major in college, Kara was drawn to a career in the law and, after graduating from Boston University School of Law, opted for the highly demanding world of trial work at two of the largest law firms in the Northeast. Whether working on a coverage dispute for a major insurer involving hundreds of millions of dollars in claims, a lawsuit against Big Tobacco on behalf of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, or commercial disputes spanning breach of contract, product liability and intellectual property, Kara was renowned for her work ethic and attention to detail.
Kara’s career took an unexpected twist when her interests in travel and photography led her to create a web design business for properties and restaurants in the French Caribbean and author a cookbook showcasing the cuisine and profiling the chefs. Inspired by the passion of these remarkable people, she then took the plunge and opened a farm-to-fork destination restaurant on a 27-acre farm she owned with her husband in Connecticut that earned accolades such as a rating of Extraordinary by The New York Times, the number one destination restaurant in New England from Boston Magazine and, ultimately, a nomination of Best Chef in the Northeast from The James Beard Foundation.
Kara and her husband moved to St. Petersburg over five years ago to be closer to Kara’s parents and were immediately smitten by the stunning beaches, amazing wildlife, wonderful restaurants and numerous independent businesses, museums and galleries that are on abundant display in this lovely slice of paradise. Kara would be delighted to share her enthusiasm for St. Pete with you, and, drawing upon the expertise and insights gained throughout her multi-faceted career, guide you through the very important process of buying or selling a home in this market as a seasoned advocate who always puts the interests of her customers first. By choosing Kara Brooks as your global advisor at Premier Sotheby’s International Realty, you have a real estate partner who understands the market and brings a fresh, innovative perspective to every transaction.
